Abstract

This study aimed to determine the badminton talent potential of 11- 13-year-old primary school students in Pengliang County. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey. The sample consisted of 40 students selected using a whole-sampling technique from four primary schools in Pengliang County. The instrument used was the Sports Talent Search Test, comprising ten items measuring biomotor abilities. The main results showed that most students belonged to the Low Potential and No Potential groups. Only 12.5% of students belonged to the Fair Potential group. Statistical testing showed a significance level of 0.779, meaning there was no significant difference between students in public and private schools. This finding underscores the need for a more systematic system for identifying and developing talent at the primary school level
