Peer Review Process

CORES (Coaching Research & Sport Education Studies) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal. Every manuscript submitted to CORES is subject to rigorous peer review to ensure quality, originality, and scholarly contribution. The peer review process involves evaluation by at least two independent reviewers who possess expertise relevant to the manuscript. This method upholds the journal’s standards, credibility, and integrity.

The review process follows these steps:

  1. Submission of Manuscript
Authors submit manuscripts through the Open Journal System (OJS). To facilitate authors, temporary submission via email is also accepted.

  2. Editorial Office Assessment
The editorial office evaluates the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, author guidelines, and basic quality standards. A plagiarism check using Turnitin is conducted before the manuscript is sent to reviewers.

  3. Initial Appraisal by the Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief determines whether the manuscript is sufficiently original, significant, and appropriate for the journal. Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria may be rejected without further review.

  4. Reviewer Invitation
The handling editor invites qualified reviewers based on expertise, research interest, and absence of conflict of interest. Reviews are conducted under a double-blind system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

  5. Reviewer Response
Invited reviewers confirm their availability and declare any potential conflicts of interest. If unavailable, they may recommend alternative reviewers.

  6. Review Process
Reviewers critically evaluate the manuscript, assessing methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field. Recommendations may include acceptance, rejection, or revision (minor/major).

  7. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief and handling editor consider reviewers’ reports before making a final decision. In case of conflicting reviews, additional reviewers may be invited.

  8. Decision Communication
Authors receive a decision letter with anonymous reviewer comments and guidance for revision (if required).

  9. Revision and Final Decision
Authors revise their manuscripts according to reviewer feedback and resubmit. Revised manuscripts may undergo re-review (for major revisions) or final assessment by the editor (for minor revisions). Accepted papers proceed to copy-editing and are published online as open-access articles in PDF format.
